The Bon Jhankri Shamans

A good portion of my training delved into Bon methods, so I wanted to shed a little light on this ancient practice.

Bon Jhankri shamans are traditional healers and spiritual practitioners in the Bon religion, which is one of the oldest spiritual traditions in Tibet and the Himalayan region. The Bon tradition predates Tibetan Buddhism and has its roots in the indigenous beliefs and practices of the region.

Jhankri shamans are highly respected and revered in Bon culture for their healing abilities and spiritual knowledge. They are believed to have a deep connection with nature and the spirit world, and they use their skills to heal physical and spiritual ailments, communicate with spirits, and perform rituals for the well-being of individuals and the community.

Jhankri shamans undergo rigorous training and initiation rituals to develop their abilities and connect with the spirits and deities of the Bon tradition. They often use rituals, prayer, meditation, and herbal remedies to diagnose and treat illnesses, remove negative energy, and restore balance and harmony to body, mind, and spirit.

In addition to their healing abilities, Jhankri shamans also play important roles in cultural and spiritual ceremonies, such as festivals, rituals, and rites of passage. They serve as intermediaries between the human world and the spirit world, helping to maintain harmony and balance in the community.

Bon Jhankri shamans play a vital role in preserving and transmitting the ancient wisdom and knowledge of the Bon tradition. They are valued for their healing skills, spiritual guidance, and ability to connect with the unseen realms of the spirit world. Their presence and contributions are essential to the well-being and spiritual harmony of the communities they serve.
